Meet the Youth and Recreation Minister, Mike Johns

My name is Mike Johns and I am the Minister of Youth and Recreation here at FBC Higginsville. I have been serving here since January of 2007. It is an incredible journey and one that I never would have imagined taking. God has moved my family here to minister to a great group of students.
I was born and raised in the Kansas City area and enjoyed life in the big city. I was working as a Computer Technician and that was going well. For over 13 years, God placed me at 2 different churches doing bi-vocational ministry. Then his call came to do ministry full-time and to trust in Him. It was a lengthy process to discern his call and a huge step of faith, but God has been faithful all the way.

Meanwhile we are eagerly awaiting our house in Blue Springs to sell and then we will be able to move to town and further establish ourselves in the community. Meanwhile we will love God and love people and make the commute to this city where God has given us a mission and a vision and an incredible opportunity to grow our faith and His kingdom.
